The Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) criticized the Central government for its silence on activist Sonam Wangchuk’s deteriorating health. Wangchuk, known as the “son of the Himalayas,” has been on a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar for 15 days. The party urged Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over the NEET-UG exam scam.

The editorial highlighted Wangchuk’s frail condition and criticized the government’s inaction. It questioned PM Modi’s support for Pradhan despite Wangchuk’s critical state. The Shiv Sena emphasized Wangchuk’s selfless motives for the student community’s welfare.

The NEET crisis, with question paper leaks and cancellations, has disrupted medical aspirants’ futures. The editorial accused the government of turning exams into a corrupt market. It criticized the proposal to involve the military in securing exam papers.

The editorial slammed Pradhan for appointing corrupt Vice-Chancellors, damaging higher education. It compared him unfavorably to past education leaders. The Shiv Sena criticized the BJP for its response to Wangchuk’s protest, citing historical double standards.

The editorial called for public support for Wangchuk’s cause and urged a mass movement. It appealed to the youth to join the protest at Jantar Mantar and hold the government accountable for Wangchuk’s plight.
