Shiv Sena and Shiv Sena-UBT criticized MBBS student Sejal Pawar for allegedly making objectionable remarks during a stand-up comedy show, as seen in a viral social media video. Despite this, Shiv Sena-UBT leader Kishori Pednekar emphasized that Pawar’s education should not be disrupted.
Former Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar referred to Sejal Pawar as a “young and inexperienced girl” during a press briefing. Pednekar highlighted the importance of being cautious with statements, especially in the context of stand-up comedy shows, where people attend to laugh and relieve stress.
Shiv Sena-UBT’s Pednekar expressed disapproval of Pawar’s remarks, stating that joking about sensitive topics like deceased individuals or private body parts is inappropriate. However, she stressed that Pawar’s education should continue, noting that her parents likely have aspirations for her academic future.
Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC also condemned Pawar’s actions, emphasizing the need to respect the medical profession. Shaina NC underscored the seriousness of organ donation and the importance of treating sensitive matters with dignity and respect. While acknowledging Pawar’s apology, she supported the medical community’s concerns regarding the incident.
KEM Hospital and Seth G.S. Medical College enforced a 15-day forced leave for Sejal Pawar in response to the controversy, underscoring the repercussions of her actions.
