Shiv Sena-UBT legislator Anil Parab criticized the BJP-led Mahayuti government for the reported manhandling of a minister during the recent Satara Zilla Parishad elections. Parab questioned the government’s ability to protect ordinary citizens if ruling ministers face violence in the state.
Parab directed his criticism towards the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), accusing them of being intimidated by the BJP and lacking the courage to stand up for themselves. He challenged their integrity and questioned their loyalty, highlighting a perceived lack of resistance towards the BJP.
The remarks made by Parab sparked a strong response from Shiv Sena Ministers Uday Samant and Shambhuraj Desai. The ministers defended their actions during a previous revolt, emphasizing their courage and determination in the face of threats and challenges. They rejected Parab’s accusations and asserted their commitment to seeking justice through proper channels.
Satara Guardian Minister Shambhuraj Desai shared his experience of facing mistreatment by the police while escorting members to the polling booth. He expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation, citing his own ordeal as a state minister. Desai highlighted the need for safety and security for all individuals, including government officials, in the state.
Anil Parab also brought up the issue of a fraudulent ‘Baba’ deceiving people in Maharashtra and the involvement of politicians with such individuals in criminal activities. He emphasized the importance of maintaining ethical standards in politics and distancing oneself from any illicit connections or illegal practices, including using political influence for personal gain.
