Shivamogga Yodhas advanced to Qualifier 2 of the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 after a convincing seven-wicket win over Mysuru Warriors in the Eliminator at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The Yodhas successfully chased down the target of 162 runs with 23 balls to spare, led by half-centuries from Luvnith Sisodia and Tushar Singh. This victory was a sweet revenge for their previous defeat to the Warriors in the league stage.
Mysuru Warriors faced a tough start while batting first, losing wickets early on to Abhilash Shetty and Naveen MG. The top order collapse left them struggling at 66/6 in the 13th over. Despite the challenging situation, Madhav Bajaj and captain Vyshak Vijayakumar managed a brief revival with a 39-run partnership for the eighth wicket before both got dismissed in quick succession. Abhishek Prabhakar’s explosive unbeaten 36 off 10 balls, including five sixes and a four, in the final over, along with Lavish Kaushal, helped the Warriors post a competitive total.
In response, Shivamogga Yodhas dominated the chase with a solid 95-run opening partnership between Luvnith Sisodia and Tushar Singh in less than 10 overs. Sisodia scored 56 off 35 balls, while Tushar contributed 53 off 39 deliveries. Despite Abhishek Prabhakar’s two-wicket haul, the Warriors couldn’t stage a comeback. K V Aneesh’s unbeaten 35 off 16 balls and Younis Ali Baig’s eight not out guided the Yodhas to a comfortable victory.
The upcoming match will feature Bengaluru Blasters against Coastal Kings Mangaluru, with the winner progressing to the final and the loser facing the Yodhas in Qualifier 2. Additionally, Sisodia reclaimed the Orange Cap by accumulating 374 runs in the tournament.
