Well-known actress and former Bigg Boss contestant Shivani Narayanan has honored the late playback singer S Janaki by sharing videos of herself singing some of the legendary singer’s iconic songs. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Shivani expressed her admiration for S Janaki, stating that despite lacking formal training, she was inspired by the singer’s magical voice. She described her attempt as a small tribute to the renowned singer, known as the Nightingale of the South.
Shivani highlighted the profound impact of S Janaki’s music on her life, emphasizing that the singer’s melodies would endure forever. Recognizing the irreplaceable void left by the legendary singer, Shivani acknowledged the eternal comfort that S Janaki’s music provided to countless fans. She described the experience of singing S Janaki’s tracks as challenging due to the singer’s vocal perfection but expressed her love and respect through her renditions.
The passing of S Janaki, a four-time National Award winner renowned for recording over 48,000 songs in various Indian languages, was mourned by fans worldwide. The veteran singer, aged 88, breathed her last at a private hospital in Mysuru following a cardiac arrest. Despite receiving intensive medical care, including CPR and continuous monitoring, S Janaki could not be revived and was declared deceased on the same day of her admission.
