A disturbing incident of sexual assault has surfaced in Jharkhand’s East Singhbhum district, where a 15-year-old girl was reportedly held captive and brutally raped by a government health department worker. The alleged perpetrator, identified as Munna Tamsi, enticed the minor, who lived nearby, to his home late at night and subjected her to the assault. The traumatized girl, initially silent out of fear, disclosed the incident to her elder sister the following morning.
The accused, a staff member in the malaria department in Gamharia, managed to evade arrest after the incident was revealed, despite a police raid that led to the seizure of his motorcycle. The community, including local Panchayat Samiti member Draupadi Murmu, supported the victim’s family in filing an official complaint at the Parsudih police station. Outrage has swept through Jamshedpur, with leaders denouncing the crime as a significant blemish on society, particularly due to the perpetrator’s role as a government employee in a public welfare department.
Authorities are actively pursuing the absconding employee, Munna Tamsi, with multiple police teams conducting targeted searches at suspected locations. The local populace and officials are calling for swift legal action, emphasizing the need for a prompt trial to ensure the accused faces the severest consequences for his actions.
