The annual Shri Amarnath Yatra restarted after a six-day pause due to heavy rainfall, bringing joy to devotees. The 18th batch of pilgrims set off via the Baltal route from Jammu for Baba Barfani’s darshan. Despite the weather challenges, pilgrims remained enthusiastic and determined to continue their sacred journey.
Expressing delight at the yatra’s resumption, devotees praised the efforts of the administration and security agencies in ensuring their safety and comfort. One pilgrim, visiting the shrine for the first time, expressed unwavering determination to seek blessings despite the adverse weather conditions. Another pilgrim, on his third yatra, commended the arrangements and security forces’ role in facilitating the pilgrimage.
Several pilgrims lauded the Jammu and Kashmir administration for providing essential facilities during the temporary suspension of the pilgrimage. Despite being unable to proceed to the Valley due to bad weather, the administration ensured a comfortable stay by guiding pilgrims to various tourist and religious sites in Jammu. The pilgrimage, which began on July 19 and is set to end on August 28, has seen over 3.7 lakh devotees offering prayers at the holy cave shrine.
