Top professional Shubhankar Sharma secured his seventh PGTI Tour title by carding a five-under 67 at the Boulders Classic in Hyderabad. Sharma, hailing from Chandigarh, finished at a remarkable 25-under 263, setting a new record for the lowest aggregate score on the tour. His dominant performance earned him a prize of INR 15 lakh.
This victory marked Sharma’s first win on the tour since 2017 and his first professional title in over eight years. The 29-year-old golfer’s winning total surpassed the previous record of 24-under 264 held by other players. Hyderabad’s Mohd Azhar, Delhi’s Rashid Khan, and Chandigarh’s Angad Cheema shared the second spot, finishing eight shots behind Sharma.
Manu Gandas, the 2022 DP World PGTI Ranking winner, made a remarkable late surge to secure a tied ninth position. Throughout the week, the course record was repeatedly challenged and reset by various players. Sharma maintained his focus and game plan during the final round, securing his well-deserved victory.
Reflecting on his performance, Sharma expressed satisfaction with his consistent approach and mindset. He emphasized the importance of staying focused and not letting the lead affect his game. Sharma also praised the Boulder Hills Golf & Country Club, highlighting its potential for challenging play under different conditions.
Khalin Joshi and Saptak Talwar finished tied 12th, while Yuvraj Sandhu, a pre-tournament favorite, ended up in the tied 18th position. Talwar’s earnings extended his lead in the DP World PGTI Order of Merit rankings. The tournament showcased remarkable talent and competitive spirit among the players.
