Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah affirmed his commitment to active politics even after resigning from his post, emphasizing his dedication to safeguarding the Constitution. During a press conference in Bengaluru, Siddaramaiah emotionally declared his lifelong battle against threats to the Constitution and his ongoing advocacy for equality and social justice. He formally submitted his resignation from the Chief Minister’s position to the Governor’s Secretary, following directives from the party’s high command.
Siddaramaiah, visibly moved, expressed confidence that Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot would accept his resignation upon returning to Bengaluru, highlighting the support of 138 MLAs for the government. He thanked Congress leaders and workers for their unwavering support throughout his political journey, acknowledging the opportunity to serve the people of Karnataka.
Reflecting on his political allegiance to the Congress party, Siddaramaiah credited party members for their support and the opportunities provided to him. He reiterated his steadfast commitment to principles such as ensuring basic necessities for all individuals and protecting the state’s resources and language, expressing gratitude to party leaders for their guidance and assistance.
