Siddhesh Lad and Shardul Thakur were awarded the Justice Tendolkar Trophy for the Best Senior Cricketer for the 2025/26 and 2024/25 seasons by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) at a prestigious awards ceremony in Mumbai. The event recognized exceptional performances across the seasons, highlighting the talent shaping Mumbai’s cricketing heritage and inspiring future champions.

The awards evening saw the presence of cricket legends like Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, and Rajeev Kulkarni, as well as dignitaries including Hon’ble Cabinet Ministers Ashish Shelar and Aditi Tatkare. MCA President Ajinkya Naik and other key members of the cricket community graced the occasion, emphasizing the collective strength and tradition of Mumbai cricket.

Siddhesh Lad and Shardul Thakur were lauded for their significant contributions to senior-level cricket, receiving accolades for their outstanding performances. The MCA also honored Ayush Mhatre, who led the Under-19 Men’s World Cup-winning team, along with other players and coaches from Mumbai who played pivotal roles in recent World Cup victories.

The evening celebrated Mumbai’s dominance in domestic cricket during the 2024–25 season, with MCA recognizing champion teams across various age groups and formats. The association also reiterated its commitment to nurturing young talent through the Sharad Pawar Scholarships, awarded to promising individuals for their dedication and potential in cricket.

The ceremony paid tribute to stalwarts of the game with Lifetime Achievement Awards, acknowledging their long-standing contributions to Mumbai cricket. MCA President Ajinkya Naik emphasized the importance of upholding excellence and legacy in Mumbai cricket, setting high standards for future generations to follow.

The MCA Awards event served as a platform to honor achievements, legacy, and aspirations within the Mumbai cricket community, uniting key figures and contributors under one roof.
