Known for hit songs like Naagin and Aithey Aa, singer Akasa Singh has voiced her support for students protesting for their rights. She emphasized the importance of unity beyond political differences and standing up for humanity. Akasa, along with actors Gurfateh Pirzada and Pratibha Ranta, attended a student protest in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park, advocating for accountability, dialogue, and condemning violence against peaceful demonstrators.

She expressed concern about students feeling compelled to resort to extreme measures due to a lack of justice and recited a Hindi poem urging people to speak out and take action. Akasa stressed the need for accountability and dialogue for the youth of the nation, emphasizing that students should not face violence while peacefully demanding their fundamental rights.

Violent clashes erupted during a protest in Delhi as supporters of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and students marched towards Parliament, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over examination irregularities, including NEET-UG paper leaks. The demonstrations, which commenced at Jantar Mantar, attracted students, opposition figures, and activists advocating for transparency in the education system. Delhi Police have promised a thorough investigation into the unrest.

Akasa made her debut with “Kheech Meri Photo” in the 2016 film Sanam Teri Kasam and gained popularity with her single “Thug Ranjha.” She highlighted the importance of student welfare and the right to protest peacefully, urging people to prioritize humanity over political affiliations.
