The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the obscene video case related to former MP Prajwal Revanna, grandson of ex-Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, has submitted a 13,712-page chargesheet. Charges have been pressed against 39 individuals, including workers linked to both the BJP and Congress. The chargesheet, filed in Hassan’s Senior Civil Court, pertains to the distribution of pen drives containing alleged obscene videos.
The SIT’s detailed investigation revealed that out of 52 individuals initially mentioned, charges have been established against 39 persons. The probe was initiated following a complaint by advocate Poornachandra, who had served as a JD(S) agent during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The accused allegedly procured about 70 pen drives in Hassan for disseminating the videos.
Technical evidence and reports from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) formed the basis for framing charges against the accused. Notable names in the chargesheet include Naveen, Karthik N., who was Prajwal Revanna’s driver, and several others. The videos were purportedly recorded without the consent of the women involved and circulated through pen drives and mobile phones.
The investigation uncovered that some accused shared the videos via mobile phones, leading to wider circulation during the Lok Sabha election period. Following the completion of the probe, the SIT has submitted the chargesheet to the Hassan court. Multiple cases, including allegations of rape and sexual harassment, have been registered against Prajwal Revanna, who is currently under scrutiny.
