The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) sexual harassment and alleged forced conversion case has lodged a second chargesheet in a Nashik court in Maharashtra. This chargesheet, submitted at the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court, addresses eight FIRs filed at the Mumbai Naka Police Station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused individuals named in this chargesheet include Raza Rafiq Memon, Shahrukh Hussain Shaukat Qureshi, Ashwini Ashok Chainani, Tausif Bilal Attar, Shafi Bhikhan Shaikh, Danish Ejaz Shaikh, Nida Ejaz Khan, and others.
The SIT had previously filed a 1,500-page chargesheet on May 22 in a separate case registered at the Deolali Camp Police Station under the BNS and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. In that chargesheet, Danish Ejaz Shaikh, Tausif Bilal Attar, Nida Ejaz Khan, and Matin Majid Patel were named as the accused. The SIT was formed following complaints from female employees at the Nashik unit of the IT company, alleging exploitation, forced religious conversion, religious sentiments’ hurt, molestation, and mental harassment.
Allegations suggest that the accused targeted employees through WhatsApp groups, pressuring them to pray and consume non-vegetarian food. Some victims claimed they were coerced into adopting specific religious practices, such as praying, changing dietary habits, and wearing religious symbols. Additionally, the police interrogated All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Corporator Mateen Patel, accused of harboring Nida Khan while she was reportedly on the run. Patel underwent a nine-hour interrogation on May 25 and is summoned for further questioning on June 1.
The SIT had previously filed its initial chargesheet on May 22, naming Nida Khan, Danish Shaikh, Tausif Attar, and AIMIM corporator Mateen Patel in connection with the Deolali police station case.
