The Special Investigation Team (SIT) looking into the chaos at Lionel Messi’s event in Kolkata has blocked the transfer of ticket sales funds to the main organizer, Satadru Dutta. Documents related to the event have been found at Dutta’s residence in Hooghly district. Rs 22 crore has been seized from Dutta’s bank account, and he is currently in police custody since his arrest on December 13. The SIT raided Dutta’s residence on Friday, recovering various documents linked to Messi’s event and bank accounts. Police took immediate action upon finding the account-related documents, seizing Rs 22 crore from Dutta’s bank account. The estimated value of tickets sold at the event was nearly Rs 20 crore. The SIT is ensuring that this money does not reach Dutta’s account, instructing the third-party intermediary company not to transfer the funds under any circumstances. Dutta denies responsibility for the chaos, blaming the West Bengal government for mismanagement and interference in ticket distribution. The incident led to vandalism at the stadium after Messi left within 22 minutes.
