Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) organized a sit-in protest in Amberpet, Hyderabad, urging the arrest of Bandi Bhagirath, the son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay, who is facing a POCSO case. The protesters, including BRS MLA Kaleru Venkatesh, called for immediate action against Bhagirath, who is currently evading authorities.
Allegations were made by Venkatesh that an effort was made to downplay the case by implicating the victim in a honey trap scheme. He criticized the handling of the situation, stating that instead of holding Bhagirath accountable for his actions, a honey trap case was filed against the victim and her family members.
The BRS leader accused the Congress government of shielding Bandi Sanjay’s son and emphasized the need for accountability. He demanded the resignation of Bandi Sanjay as a Central minister and urged the state government to promptly apprehend Bhagirath, emphasizing the importance of justice for the victim’s family.
BRS also accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of protecting Bhagirath and Bandi Sanjay, highlighting discrepancies in the treatment of different cases. The party called for equal justice and swift action in the POCSO case involving the minor girl. Meanwhile, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao criticized both the BJP and Congress for their handling of the situation.
