The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating alleged irregularities in the Ram Temple donation row has submitted its initial findings to the state government. The SIT team, consisting of Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, Inspector General of Police Kiran S, and Finance Department Special Secretary Neel Ratan, highlighted procedural lapses at various levels.
The team scrutinized temple records related to gold and jewelry offerings, cash handling, and CCTV footage. While a detailed investigation is ongoing, the SIT has identified lapses in managing temple funds and gold offerings. Discrepancies in cash handling processes, transportation to the Temple Trust office, and CCTV surveillance were also noted in the initial report.
Formed on June 13 by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in response to the donation row, the SIT is expected to submit its final report within 15 days. During the investigation, suspects involved in cash donations and offerings at the temple were questioned.
After the SIT’s final report is submitted, the state government may take action against individuals suspected of financial mismanagement and misusing funds meant for Lord Ram. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed confidence in the SIT’s ability to uncover the truth and address any irregularities.
