Six friends tragically lost their lives when a speeding truck struck them as they stood by the roadside on the Jabalpur-Bhopal National Highway-45 in Madhya Pradesh’s Narsinghpur district. The group had just visited Hathinala Waterfall on the Narsinghpur-Jabalpur border and were hit near Indira Nagar under the Suatla police station limits on Sunday evening. The victims, residents of Pavla village in Jabalpur district, had stopped around 6 p.m. to take selfies when the truck collided with them and fled the scene.

According to the police, four of the friends died immediately, while the other two succumbed to their injuries later that night. The deceased were identified as Rajendra Patel, Virendra Lodhi (20), Rampal Singh Lodhi (21), Jaipal Singh Lodhi (30), Akash Singh Lodhi (24), and Neeraj Singh Lodhi (25). Two additional victims remain unidentified. The group had parked their vehicle and was taking pictures near the roadside when the tragic accident occurred.

Additional Superintendent of Police Sandeep Bhuria mentioned that the friends were hit by a Hyva truck, and efforts are underway to locate the driver who fled the scene. A case has been registered, and authorities are actively searching for the accused. The police are reviewing CCTV footage from the accident site and nearby areas to identify the vehicle and its driver for further investigation.

Local residents who heard the cries for help rushed to the scene and alerted the authorities. The injured were promptly taken to the hospital, where two of them later passed away during treatment. The bodies were sent for post-mortem examination before being released to their families. The investigation into the tragic incident is ongoing to bring justice to the victims and their families.
