Six individuals lost their lives, and many others were injured in a tragic multiple vehicle collision on the Mumbai-Agra Highway in Dhule, Maharashtra. The incident took place at Laling Ghat in Dhule early on Monday, involving a dumper truck, a standard truck, and a passenger bus from Madhya Pradesh. The collision resulted in the death of a toll employee who was aiding in the rescue efforts.
Police and rescue teams promptly responded to the scene, rescuing all injured persons who were then taken to the District Hospital for treatment. The accident caused a disruption in highway traffic for a period as investigations by the police are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
In a separate incident in Maharashtra’s Raigad district, eight individuals perished when an SUV fell into a deep gorge. Rescue teams have recovered two bodies so far, with efforts ongoing to locate the remaining victims. The challenging terrain of the gorge is posing obstacles to the search and recovery operations, with officials continuing their search for the missing bodies.
