A tragic road accident in Yadgir district, Karnataka, led to the deaths of six individuals in a head-on collision between a car and a private bus. The car passengers were engulfed in flames, resulting in six fatalities, while two survivors sustained severe injuries and were taken to a hospital. One of the injured individuals is in critical condition.
The incident took place near Devapur in Surpur taluk, within the Surpur Police Station’s jurisdiction. Reports indicate that the car, traveling from Yadgir to Raichur, collided with a bus heading from Bengaluru to Kalaburagi. The collision was so intense that both vehicles immediately caught fire, with the car being completely destroyed and all occupants losing their lives.
Emergency services personnel and local authorities rushed to the scene to extinguish the flames and investigate the accident further. The exact cause of the collision is yet to be determined, and the identities of the deceased individuals remain unknown. Both the car and the bus were consumed by the fire following the collision.
In a similar incident on December 25, 2025, a private sleeper bus collided with a truck near Hiriyur in Chitradurga district, resulting in fatalities. The collision, which occurred on National Highway 48, claimed the lives of six passengers, including Bindu V, Grema, Manasa, Navya, and Rashmi Mahale, who were en route from Bengaluru to Gokarna. Additionally, the truck driver, reportedly from Uttar Pradesh, lost his life in the accident.
