A tragic incident occurred in Greater Noida’s Kala Dham Society, where a six-year-old boy lost his life by falling into a 15-foot-deep pit filled with water. The victim, identified as Avyaan Surya, was playing near the pit when the accident happened. The pit, dug by the Greater Noida Authority for work, had turned into a hazard due to lack of barricades or warning signs.
Local residents and authorities revealed that the pit, created for boring work, had collected rainwater, making it dangerous. Despite immediate efforts to rescue the child and rush him to a hospital, he was declared dead upon arrival. This incident has stirred anger among residents who blame the authorities for negligence and demand stringent action against those responsible.
Residents emphasized the need for better safety measures at construction sites, citing a previous tragedy involving a software engineer who drowned in a similar pit earlier this year. They highlighted the importance of proper barricading and safety precautions to prevent such accidents in the future.
In a separate incident in Delhi, a 20-year-old man lost his life after his vehicle plunged into an open drain in Vasant Kunj area. The man, identified as Yashvendra, reportedly lost control of his vehicle while navigating a sharp turn, leading to the fatal accident.
