Slovakia’s Ambassador to India, Robert Maxian, views Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Slovakia as a significant event that will enhance bilateral ties. PM Modi’s visit from June 14-16 marks the first-ever trip by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since its independence in 1993.
In an interview, Ambassador Maxian highlighted past visits by Indian dignitaries to Slovakia, emphasizing the importance of PM Modi’s upcoming visit. He mentioned the positive impact of high-level political dialogues between the two countries, leading to strengthened cooperation.
Ambassador Maxian anticipates the signing of agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between India and Slovakia during PM Modi’s visit. The visit aims to bolster cooperation across various sectors such as investment, trade, innovation, artificial intelligence, student mobility, and labor mobility.
PM Modi is scheduled to engage in discussions with Slovakian leaders, including Prime Minister Robert Fico and President Peter Pellegrini, to explore new avenues of collaboration. The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted that the visit underscores India’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with Slovakia in trade, investment, and manufacturing sectors.
