Actor-turned-politician Smriti Irani recently shared a 13-year-old photo featuring the key actresses from the popular show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, playfully calling them ‘Madcaps.’ The image, originally posted by actress Ritu Chaudhary Seth, includes Smriti Irani, Komolika Guhathakurta, Apara Mehta, Tasneem Sheikh Nerurkar, and Tuhina Vohra, who all played significant roles in the show’s debut in June 2000.

The iconic show returned after 25 years with a new season in August 2025, with Smriti Irani reprising her role as Tulsi and Amar Upadhyay as Mihir. However, Apara Mehta, who portrayed Mihir’s mother in the first season, is not part of the current cast. The latest season of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2 has quickly gained popularity, achieving a TRP of 2.3 in its first week, surpassing long-standing favorite Anupama in the Hindi GEC fictional show category.

The show, known for the iconic on-screen couple Mihir and Tulsi in the 2000s, had a successful run from June 2000 to November 2008, spanning eight years. Fans fondly recall how Amar Upadhyay’s character of Mihir was brought back to life due to overwhelming demand from viewers. The new season features familiar faces like Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Shakti Anand, Ritu Seth, Ketavi Dave, and Komolika Guhathakurta, alongside a fresh cast including Rohit Suchanti, Shagun Sharma, Aman Gandhi, Tanisha Mehta, Prachi Singh, and Ankit Bhatia.
