In a reflection on India’s historic 2–1 T20I series win against Australia, Smriti Mandhana expressed the team’s aim to maintain their top position consistently. India clinched the series with a 17-run victory in the final match at Adelaide Oval, marking their first bilateral series triumph on Australian soil in ten years.

The visitors posted a competitive 176 for 6 after being put in to bat, led by Mandhana’s unbeaten 82 off 55 balls and a fluent 59 from Jemimah Rodrigues. India’s bowlers then contained Australia to 159 for 9, securing a memorable win.

Mandhana emphasized the team’s focus on dominating world cricket and achieving consistency at the highest level. She highlighted the importance of maintaining a winning streak regardless of the opponent or venue, underscoring India’s ambition to stay at the pinnacle of the sport.

Speaking on the shift from one-day cricket to T20Is, Mandhana acknowledged the team’s emphasis on enhancing their performance in the shortest format. With a strong start to the year, including an overseas T20 series victory, she emphasized the significance of building momentum ahead of the upcoming World Cup in England.

Mandhana also praised the multi-format series concept, which she believes adds value to women’s cricket by emphasizing the significance of each game. She expressed her appreciation for the blend of T20Is, ODIs, and Tests, highlighting the unique challenges and excitement that each format brings to the sport.
