Sobisco Smashers Malda secured a spot in the Bengal T20 League Season 3 final by defeating Servotech Siliguri Strikers with an 11-run victory, propelled by Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal’s impressive hat-trick. In the other semifinal, Shrachi Rarh Tigers dominated Novus Royals Purulia, winning by seven wickets at the Eden Gardens.
Malda, batting first, posted a total of 134 runs in 20 overs, led by Writam Porel’s 49 runs. Siliguri Strikers’ bowlers Ishan Porel (4-32) and Vishal Bhati (2-34) stood out in their performance. In response, Siliguri Strikers fell short, managing only 123/9 in their 20 overs.
The first semifinal saw Royals Purulia struggling to score, eventually being all out for 107 runs in 18.2 overs. Rarh Tigers’ bowlers Rohit Kumar (4-24), Shahbaz Ahmed (2-31), and Sukhmeet Singh (2-7) excelled in restricting the opposition. Rarh Tigers comfortably chased down the target, reaching 110/3 in just 12.1 overs.
The Bengal T20 League, organized by the Cricket Association of Bengal, features eight city-based franchises competing in men’s and women’s categories. The league, now in its third season, showcases teams like Adamas Howrah Warriors, Novus Royals Purulia, and Kolkata Royal Tigers, among others, playing at different venues in West Bengal.
