Subhorup Mitra, the son of rebel Trinamool Congress legislator Madan Mitra, presented himself at the Enforcement Directorate’s office in Salt Lake, Kolkata, for questioning regarding the multi-crore municipality job case in West Bengal. The ED had summoned Madan Mitra, his wife, Archana Mitra, and their two sons, Subhorup Mitra and Swarup Mitra, to appear for interrogation.
Subhorup Mitra is the first member of the Mitra family to respond to the ED’s notice. He arrived at the office complex carrying files and proceeded inside without engaging with the media. Madan Mitra, who recently switched factions within the Trinamool Congress, was the last to be served the notice by the ED.
Sources indicate that around 125 individuals allegedly secured jobs in Titagarh Municipality in exchange for money or valuables, with Madan Mitra’s name being linked to this scheme. The ED’s investigation includes raids at Mitra’s residences and other locations in connection with the case.
