South Africa chose to bowl after winning the toss against the United Arab Emirates in their final Group D match of the Men’s T20 World Cup. Captain Aiden Markram made the decision as South Africa has already secured a spot in the Super Eights.
Markram mentioned that the decision to bowl first was influenced by the presence of rain. He highlighted the moisture in the wicket and the need to exploit any early advantages. South Africa made changes to their lineup to provide game time to other players on the bench.
UAE skipper Muhammad Waseem stated that they would have also chosen to bowl first. He emphasized the importance of adapting to the conditions and putting up a competitive total. UAE made adjustments to their playing eleven, aiming to continue the momentum they have built.
