The South East Delhi Police have initiated ‘Operation Aaghat 4.0’ to crack down on crime and uphold law and order in the district. This operation led to the apprehension of 200 criminals and action against 948 individuals. During the crackdown, authorities seized 10 weapons and over 10,000 bottles of illicit liquor through coordinated raids and intensive checks in vulnerable areas.
Officials reported specific outcomes of the operation, including the arrest of four individuals under the NDPS Act with the recovery of ganja and MDMA. Additionally, 38 people were arrested under the Excise Act, resulting in the confiscation of a significant quantity of alcohol. Twenty-nine individuals were apprehended under the Arms Act, with the recovery of country-made pistols, live cartridges, and knives.
Sixty-two individuals were arrested for gambling, with a seizure of Rs 82,210. Moreover, fines amounting to Rs 11,500 were collected from 63 individuals for COTPA violations. The police also bound down numerous people for various violations under different sections, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining public safety and deterring criminal activities in the region.
