The President of the South Indian Artistes’ Association, Nasser, has called on Telugu actor Rajendra Prasad to apologize for a derogatory comment he made about the late Tamil actor and Chief Minister M G Ramachandran (MGR). Rajendra Prasad had praised Telugu actor Kanta Rao but in doing so, belittled MGR during a recent event.
Nasser’s plea for an apology to Rajendra Prasad followed strong criticism from actor Vishal over the derogatory remark made by the Telugu actor towards the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. In a video message, Nasser expressed his disappointment at Rajendra Prasad’s comments about MGR, stating that it would hurt not only Tamilians but also others in the industry.
Highlighting the longstanding tradition of talent exchange between the Telugu and Tamil film industries, Nasser emphasized MGR’s role as not just an actor but also a revered leader who had a significant impact. He urged Rajendra Prasad to offer a heartfelt apology, acknowledging MGR’s importance and the need for respect across industries.
