A tragic incident occurred on a national highway near Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, when a speeding car crashed into a group of labourers. The car struck the workers who were on a lunch break, resulting in the deaths of two women and injuries to over a dozen others.
Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene as the car hit the group of labourers without slowing down and then fled the spot, leaving behind victims in distress. The deceased women have been identified as Chainwati Bai and Lachchho Bai, both residents of Biharia village in Mandla district.
The victims, primarily from Mandla district, were engaged in painting grills and installing road divider railings along the highway. Thirteen individuals were injured in the accident and were promptly taken to the district hospital for medical treatment.
Local residents, shocked by the incident, alerted the authorities, leading to a case being registered against the driver who fled the scene. Police are currently conducting investigations to locate the driver and the vehicle involved in the tragic accident.
