Sri Lanka and New Zealand face setbacks in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup as star all-rounders Wanindu Hasaranga and Michael Bracewell are out due to injuries. Hasaranga suffered a hamstring injury during Sri Lanka’s match against Ireland, leading to his tournament exit. Despite a strong performance, an MRI revealed a severe tear in his hamstring, sidelining him for at least four weeks.
To replace Hasaranga, Sri Lanka named Dushan Hemantha, while New Zealand’s Bracewell, who aggravated a calf injury during warm-ups, will be replaced by Cole McConchie. Bracewell’s recovery period is estimated at around three weeks, ruling him out of the World Cup. Both teams are adjusting their lineups during this crucial phase of the tournament.
