Vimath Dinsara will lead Sri Lanka in the 2026 Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup, with Kavija Gamage as the vice-captain for the tournament starting on January 15 in Zimbabwe and Namibia.
The team comprises talented batters like Dinsara, Gamage, and Mahavithana, alongside all-rounders Viran Chamuditha and Chamika Heentigala. Sri Lanka, which reached the Super Six stage in the previous edition held in South Africa in 2024, will depart for Namibia soon.
In the upcoming competition, Sri Lanka is placed in Group C with defending champions Australia, Ireland, and Japan. Their first match is against Japan on January 17 at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek, followed by games against Ireland and Australia on January 19 and 23, respectively.
The 16th edition of the Men’s Under-19 World Cup will feature 16 teams divided into four groups, with the top three from each group advancing to the Super Six stage. The semifinals are scheduled for February 3 and 4 in Bulawayo and Harare, with the final set for February 6 at the Harare Sports Club.
