Jaipur is gearing up for a star-studded royal wedding as Kannada actress Sharmiela Mandre and film producer Sudhan Sundaram prepare to tie the knot at the iconic Samode Palace on July 12.
The two-day celebration will unite various leading personalities from the South Indian film industry in the regal setting of Rajasthan. Festivities kick off on July 11 with traditional ceremonies like Haldi, Mehendi, and Sangeet, blending Rajasthan’s cultural richness with South Indian traditions.
The wedding ceremony, following South Indian Vedic rituals, is scheduled for the morning of July 12, to be succeeded by a grand evening reception. Notable figures from the South Indian film industry, including film-maker Atlee, are expected to grace the event.
Actor Vijay Sethupathi might also attend, given that Sudhan Sundaram produced his acclaimed film ‘Maharaja’. Sudhan Sundaram, overseeing the wedding arrangements, arrived in Jaipur on Wednesday and was welcomed by producer Padam Shekhawat at the airport.
Actress Sharmiela Mandre, accompanied by her family, reached Jaipur on Thursday and headed straight to Samode Palace, where preparations for the celebrations are in full swing. The couple got engaged on June 25 this year, with the ceremony attended by close family and friends.
Dressed in traditional attire, Sharmiela and Sudhan exchanged rings in a ceremony that garnered well-wishes from fans and the film industry on social media. The wedding proposal earlier this year was described by the actress as simple and heartfelt, emphasizing Sudhan’s humility and down-to-earth nature.
Sharmiela highlighted the importance of marrying for love and emphasized the strong friendship that forms the core of their relationship. With a mix of royal heritage, traditional customs, and a guest list featuring top South Indian film personalities, Jaipur’s upcoming wedding is anticipated to be a glamorous celebrity affair.
