The State Investigation Agency (SIA) conducted a raid at the residence of a suspect involved in the anti-national poster case in Nowgam, Srinagar. The accused, who had been previously apprehended, had his house searched by a team comprising SIA officials and local police. The raid, carried out in the Bonpora area of Nowgam, aimed to gather additional evidence related to the case.
Officials disclosed that the accused is currently in custody in connection with a case linked to posters, as per FIR No. 03/2025 under various sections of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. The operation followed established legal protocols, with security measures in place during the search. Authorities emphasized that the raid was part of an ongoing effort to uncover more evidence and leads associated with the case.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing, with a focus on the anti-national posters that surfaced in the Nowgam area. Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have intensified efforts against terrorists, their support networks, and sympathizers. The approach now encompasses targeting the entire ecosystem that aids terrorists, beyond just the armed individuals. Additionally, security forces are monitoring drug-related activities and hawala money transactions, believed to fund terrorism in the region.
The Army and Border Security Force (BSF) are actively engaged in anti-infiltration, anti-exfiltration, and counter-smuggling operations along the Line of Control (LoC) and the international border. The LoC, spanning various districts in the Valley and Jammu, is guarded by the Army, while the BSF secures the international border in the union territory. The focus remains on preventing illegal activities that sustain terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
