A secondary school student in Kolkata reportedly died by suicide in the Topsia area following her Mathematics examination. The girl was found hanging in her house after her family discovered her body on Thursday night. Allegedly, she was distressed over her math exam performance, leading to her tragic decision.
The family mentioned that the student had been struggling with depression, particularly after the math test. While the rest of her exams went well, the girl’s anxiety about the math exam seemed to weigh heavily on her. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, treating it as an unnatural death case.
Following the news, officers from the Topsia police station responded to the scene where the minor was found. Despite no suicide note being located, the police are looking into the circumstances surrounding the student’s death. The family, shocked by the tragedy, recounted the events leading up to the discovery of the girl’s body, highlighting the emotional turmoil that preceded the unfortunate incident.
The deceased student, residing in a multi-storey building in Mahendra Roy Lane under Topsia police station, was discovered by her family members. Her parents were not at home when the incident occurred, with only her grandmother and sister present.
