Students’ organization Krantikari Yuva Sangathan (KYS) expressed strong disapproval of the US intervention in Venezuela during a protest at Jantar Mantar. Bhim Kumar, a member of KYS, emphasized the organization’s support for Venezuela’s sovereignty and urged global citizens to resist such interference.
The KYS criticized the US for allegedly kidnapping Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, to face trial in the US on charges of ‘narco-terrorism.’ The organization accused the US of targeting countries with valuable resources to bolster its economy, citing Venezuela’s vast oil reserves.
Highlighting Venezuela’s significant oil wealth, Bhim Kumar pointed out the country’s struggles due to US sanctions that have hindered production. The US plans to involve its major oil companies in Venezuela under the guise of infrastructure development, raising concerns about the country’s autonomy and self-governance, as per KYS.
