Subhash Ghai, known for his directorial ventures, recently reminisced about his acting debut in the 1967 film “Taqdeer.” The movie, directed by A. Salaam, featured Ghai alongside other actors like Bharat Bhushan and Farida Jalal. Ghai, a young actor from The Pune Film Institute, shared a black-and-white photo from the film on Instagram, inviting followers to spot him.
After his role in “Taqdeer,” Ghai ventured into acting in films like “Aradhana” in 1969 and took on lead roles in the 1970s with movies such as “Umang” and “Gumraah.” In 1976, he transitioned to directing with his debut film “Kalicharan.” Throughout his career, Ghai has helmed several successful projects, including “Karz” (1980), “Meri Jung” (1985), and “Taal” (1999), among others.
Ghai briefly paused his directing journey after “Yaadein” but later returned to the director’s chair for films like “Black & White” (2008) and “Yuvvraaj.” His contributions to the Indian film industry have been diverse and impactful, showcasing his versatility as both an actor and a director.
