After facing legal obstacles and delays, Subodh Bhave’s biopic on Neem Karoli Baba has successfully passed its censor certification. The film, which delves into the life of the revered saint, is now scheduled for a theatrical release on May 29, with Hiten Tejwani also starring in it. Originally planned for April 24, the movie has garnered significant anticipation due to its portrayal of Neem Karoli Baba’s teachings and humanitarian message.
The journey to obtaining the censor certificate was fraught with challenges, including delays and administrative issues. Despite submitting all required documents and NOCs from the Baba’s family and trusts, the certification process was prolonged. The production team had to resort to filing a writ petition in the Bombay High Court to address the delays caused by the Central Board of Film Certification.
Director Sharad Singh Thakur expressed relief upon finally receiving the censor certificate, emphasizing the film’s deep emotional and faith-based significance. The movie, titled “Shree Baba Neeb Karori Maharaj,” also features Samikssha Bhatnagar, Hemant Pandey, and Aniruddh Dave. Produced by a team of individuals and presented by Anisha Films International in collaboration with PC Jeweller and BSR Film Productions, the film is set to premiere on May 29.
