Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Badal has expressed the party’s commitment to eliminating drug trafficking and gangster activities in Punjab once they come into power in 2027. Badal commended Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria for spearheading efforts to make the state drug-free, acknowledging his grassroots approach to mobilize communities against this issue.

Badal highlighted the devastating impact of drugs on Punjab’s youth, emphasizing the need for urgent action. He criticized the current government, alleging that both the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had politicized the issue instead of addressing it effectively. Badal also accused AAP leaders of colluding with drug traffickers, hindering law enforcement efforts.

The Akali Dal leader thanked the Governor for fostering a united front against drug abuse by involving leaders from various political parties, social groups, and educational institutions. Badal vowed that if his party assumes power in 2027, they would dismantle the drug mafia and gang networks by targeting their entire hierarchy, from foot soldiers to kingpins.
