The prime accused, Ramdhani Yadav, in the Sultanganj shootout case in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district was killed in a police encounter. This incident has raised concerns about law and order in the region. The accused was taken to retrieve the weapon used in the shootout and gather evidence but unexpectedly opened fire on the police team. In self-defence, the police retaliated, resulting in a fierce exchange of gunfire. Ramdhani Yadav sustained critical injuries and was declared dead at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital.
During the encounter, three police personnel were injured and are currently receiving treatment. Senior officials have visited the hospital to assess the situation. Security has been heightened in the district, with additional police forces deployed to maintain peace.
Police clarified that their actions were in self-defence as the accused posed a threat. Efforts are underway to dismantle the criminal network associated with the case. A search operation is ongoing to apprehend other suspects. Despite tension in parts of Bhagalpur, authorities assure that law and order are being upheld.
