The Baramati Assembly bye-election concluded with Sunetra Ajit Pawar, from the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, achieving a significant victory. Sunetra Pawar broke previous records, securing a historic win with a margin of 218,930 votes, the highest ever in India’s legislative history. The election witnessed overwhelming support for Sunetra Pawar, with no opponent crossing the 1,000-vote mark.
Sunetra Pawar’s victory was a result of strong backing from her family, political parties, and organizations, leading to a landslide win. This win surpasses the previous national record set in 2022, making it a remarkable milestone. NCP MP Parth Pawar expressed gratitude for the support, emphasizing the solemnity of the occasion and pledging continued dedication to public service after the Model Code of Conduct ends.
