Bollywood star Sunny Deol recently posted a rare photo with his mother, Prakash Kaur, following the passing of his father, Dharmendra. The image captures a tender moment between Sunny and his mother, both smiling softly as they pose together. Prakash Kaur, Dharmendra’s first wife, tied the knot with the legendary actor in 1954, before his illustrious film career began.
Sunny Deol, known for his roles in films like “Border 2,” is gearing up for his upcoming project “Gabru,” which was initially planned for an OTT release but will now hit theaters after positive test screenings. Directed by Shashank Udapurkar and produced by Om Chhangani and Vishal Rana, “Gabru” also stars Simran Bagga and Prit Kamani in significant roles. The movie’s soundtrack is composed by Mithoon, featuring lyrics by Sayeed Quadri and contributions from Satinder Sartaaj and Anurag Saikia.
Described as a drama focusing on themes of courage, conscience, identity, and resilience, “Gabru” presents a character-driven narrative emphasizing moral strength and emotional struggles over typical action sequences. Sunny Deol announced the film on his 68th birthday in 2025, unveiling the first look poster on social media. Additionally, the actor is set to appear in “Lahore 1947,” a period drama directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The movie, set against the backdrop of India’s partition in 1947, features a star-studded cast including Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, and Abhimanyu Singh, based on Asghar Wajahat’s play “Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai.”
