2016 champions Sunrisers Hyderabad are set to play against table-toppers Punjab Kings in the 49th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday. Sunrisers Hyderabad, currently at No. 3 on the points table, had a five-match winning streak before losing to Kolkata Knight Riders in their last game.
On the other hand, Punjab Kings, the 2025 runner-ups, won six out of their first seven matches but faced defeats against Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans recently. Despite these losses, PBKS are leading the points table with 13 points in nine matches.
Earlier in the tournament, PBKS defeated SRH significantly by six wickets in Mullanpur. The match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings is scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, at 7:30 PM IST at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
