Surat will host the South Gujarat edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference on April 9 and 10, emphasizing the strengthening of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through an MSME Conclave on the second day. This two-day conference is part of the state government’s initiative to extend the Vibrant Gujarat platform to four regional zones, following the legacy of global summits that commenced in 2003.
The conference in the South Gujarat zone will gather stakeholders from six districts, including Tapi, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Dang, and Bharuch. It will feature sector-specific seminars, business-to-business and business-to-government meetings, exhibitions, and networking platforms to support regional industrial growth. The regional format aims to encourage broader participation by local industries and entrepreneurs.
Officials highlighted that the objective is to offer a focused platform closer to the grassroots, enabling enterprises to directly engage with policymakers, buyers, and service providers. A significant aspect of the conference will be the MSME Conclave on April 10, incorporating technical seminars, panel discussions, exhibitions, and vendor development programs tailored for micro and small enterprises.
The MSME Conclave will also acknowledge outstanding performance by MSME units operating in the South Gujarat zone during the 2024–25 financial year. Awards will be presented in five categories, including Women entrepreneurs, young entrepreneurs, Scheduled Caste entrepreneurs, Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs, and a general category for entrepreneurs not falling under the first four categories, such as those from SEBC communities.
These categories aim to ensure inclusive recognition and promote entrepreneurship across diverse sections of society. Eligible MSME units are encouraged to apply under their respective categories, with more details available through the concerned District Industries Centres. The state Industries Department has invited MSME units and entrepreneurs from South Gujarat to actively engage in the conference and conclave, emphasizing the opportunity to showcase capabilities, forge partnerships, and access institutional support within the region.
