Suspended Trinamool Congress legislator from Bharatpur Assembly Constituency, Humayun Kabir, stated that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has evolved over the past 15 years and is now less accessible to the common people. Kabir praised Mamata Banerjee’s leadership qualities but noted a significant transformation in her accessibility compared to her opposition days. He also commended Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and Trinamool Congress general secretary, Abhishek Banerjee, predicting a promising political future for him if given the freedom to lead. Kabir surprisingly expressed acceptance of the leader of the opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, describing him as a competent politician despite occasional communal statements. Kabir revealed his openness to forming alliances with anti-Trinamool Congress and anti-BJP groups for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections next year to challenge the current ruling party. He mentioned that the decision on the number of constituencies his party will contest will depend on the circumstances.
