Suvendu Adhikari has been sworn in as the first Chief Minister of West Bengal from the BJP. RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha congratulated Adhikari and emphasized the need to address the prevailing violence in the state. Jha highlighted Adhikari’s political experience, having been associated with multiple parties before joining the BJP.
Meanwhile, Adhikari assumed office as the Chief Minister, leading a council of ministers that includes Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Nisith Pramanik, Ashok Kirtania, and Khudiram Tudu. The new ministers represent diverse communities, reflecting the BJP’s inclusive approach in governance. Notably, the portfolios of the ministers were yet to be disclosed at the time of reporting.
Adhikari’s cabinet selection, comprising members from various caste backgrounds, is seen as a move towards equitable representation. The BJP’s significant victories in constituencies with Matua and tribal voters underscored the party’s support among these communities. The diverse composition of the cabinet aims to promote equality and inclusivity in the new state government.
