Sweden’s manager, Graham Potter, commended the partnership between Alexander Isak from Liverpool and Viktor Gyokeres from Arsenal, as both players scored in a 5-1 triumph over Tunisia in Group F of the 2026 FIFA World Cup held in Monterrey, Mexico. Sweden’s Yasin Ayari netted twice, and Mattias Svanberg also scored, propelling Sweden to the top of Group F. Potter praised the duo’s performance, highlighting their teamwork and work ethic, expressing optimism for their future collaboration.

Potter acknowledged the strong showing of his team but emphasized the need for collective improvement before their upcoming match against the Netherlands in Houston. Despite the impressive victory, Potter believed there was still room for enhancement and urged his team to maintain focus and readiness for the next challenge. Sweden’s dominance was evident as Ayari, Isak, and Gyokeres starred in the resounding win over Tunisia, showcasing their prowess on the field.

In a match marked by high-scoring action, Sweden’s Ayari, Isak, and Gyokeres played pivotal roles in securing the victory. Ayari’s spectacular strike, Isak’s clinical finish, and Gyokeres’ goal highlighted Sweden’s attacking prowess. The second half saw Sweden’s complete control, with Isak and Gyokeres adding to the scoreline before Svanberg and Ayari sealed the comprehensive win. This matchday witnessed a flurry of goals, with 19 scored, including Sweden’s impressive performance.

Tunisia’s manager, Sabri Lamouchi, admitted Sweden’s superiority in the match and attributed his team’s defeat to their own errors. Lamouchi acknowledged the quality of the Swedish team and emphasized the impact of simple mistakes against such formidable opponents. Looking ahead, Sweden is set to face the Netherlands, while Tunisia will take on Japan in their next fixtures, aiming to bounce back from their initial setback.
