Tajikistan sent 3,610 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Iran through a 110-truck convoy. The aid includes medicines, sanitary products, children’s clothing, food items, and other essentials, as confirmed by Tajikistan’s Foreign Ministry. The UN Refugee Agency reported that up to 3.2 million people in Iran are displaced due to the ongoing conflict, with many seeking refuge in safer areas away from urban centers.
The situation in Iran has led to a significant number of people being displaced, with families moving towards rural areas for safety. The escalating humanitarian crisis has raised concerns about the growing needs of those affected by the conflict. The UNHCR Director highlighted the challenges faced by refugee families, particularly vulnerable groups like Afghans, who are already in precarious situations with limited support networks.
Amid the conflict, a large number of Iranian civilians, including women and children, have suffered casualties from US-Israeli airstrikes. The Iranian UN ambassador reported that over 1,300 civilians have been killed and thousands injured in these attacks. The impact on children is particularly severe, with more than 180 child fatalities and damage to numerous schools across the country.
