The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations has scheduled the Higher Secondary (Class 12) public exams for the academic year 2025-26 from March 2 to March 26. Concurrently, the SSLC (Class 10) exams will be held from March 11 to April 6 across the state.

A total of 8,27,475 candidates are set to participate in the Class 12 board exams, commencing on Monday. This includes 7,99,692 regular school students and 27,783 private candidates.

To maintain exam integrity, the tests will be conducted at 3,412 centers statewide with stringent security measures. The government has decided to discontinue the Class 11 public exam system, replacing it with re-examinations for students who didn’t pass the earlier Class 11 exams, scheduled from March 3 to March 27 at 2,615 centers.
