Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay inaugurated the Singappen Task Force, a specialized police unit aimed at preventing crimes against women and children. The Chief Minister emphasized that drug abuse is a significant factor behind offenses against women and girls. He highlighted the importance of addressing this issue to create a safer society.
Vijay stressed the government’s commitment to enhancing law enforcement and ensuring the safety of women through proactive policing and swift legal actions against offenders. He warned that strict measures would be taken against those committing crimes against women. The government has allocated Rs 354 crore for the implementation of the Singappen Task Force to prevent crimes before they occur.
The Chief Minister appointed IG K. Bhavaneeswari to lead the task force and announced plans for further expansion with 2,500 additional posts. The initiative aims to strengthen the presence of the task force across Tamil Nadu and create a secure environment for women and children. Vijay’s focus is on preventive measures to curb crimes against women and ensure their safety.
