The State Cyber Crime Wing of the Tamil Nadu Police has announced the arrest of three additional individuals in connection with the leaking of actor Vijay’s film ‘Jana Nayagan’ online. This comes after the initial arrest of six people linked to the case. The arrests were made following a detailed technical analysis and examination of digital evidence.
According to the State Cyber Crime Wing, the main accused, who was a freelance assistant editor for another movie, illicitly accessed the reels of ‘Jananayagan’ at an editing studio and shared the stolen data with accomplices, resulting in the online circulation of pirated copies. All three accused have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
The police have cautioned the public against downloading, streaming, or sharing pirated content, emphasizing that any involvement in digital piracy will lead to severe legal consequences. They have urged the public to report instances of pirated content or suspicious links promptly.
Director H Vinoth’s highly anticipated film, ‘Jana Nayagan’, starring actors Vijay and Pooja Hegde, was recently leaked online, causing dismay among fans and the film industry. Prominent figures in the film industry from various regions have condemned the leak and demanded strict action against those responsible.
